Sunshine College was established in July 2023 G.C with full accreditation from FDRE Education and Training Authority (ETA). It was founded based on the national health policy demand, long term government plan, and the mandate given to private higher education institutions to train competent professionals for the country's development. The college's main objective is to produce highly skilled, life-long learners, with a focus on health professionals.

Currently, Sunshine College consists of four departments and offers six programs. These departments include the department of Pharmacy, the department of Nursing, the department of Public Health, and the department of Post Graduate.

The college aims to encourage cross-breeding across various disciplinary paradigms by using standardized and harmonized curricula approved by ETA. This ensures that the teaching-learning process meets high standards and quality checks. Additionally, the college emphasizes research, collaborative opportunities, and producing professionals who can address the health needs of the community as a health team.

Sunshine College offers professional training at TVET, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. Currently, the college has over 700 students and employs more than 15 full-time college members. With its unique roles in training highly skilled health and other professionals, Sunshine College contributes to the expansion of quality healthcare, education, and research in the country, aligning with its mission and vision.
